The Nigerian Air Force has neutralised scores of terrorists following a precision airstrike on a logistics hub deep within the Dan-Aji Forest in Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State, security sources confirmed on Monday. The operation, conducted under the air component of Operation FANSAN YAMMA, targeted the camp of notorious bandit kingpin Abasu Aiki, who has been linked to multiple kidnappings and attacks on farming communities along the Katsina-Zamfara axis.

Intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) missions had tracked sustained terrorist activity at the location, which served as a staging point for the storage of weapons, fuel, and looted supplies. According to a military situation report seen by Prime Brief Media, the airstrike was authorised after confirming the presence of armed fighters and logistics equipment at the coordinates. Battle damage assessment imagery showed secondary explosions, indicating the presence of high-calibre ammunition and fuel storage, and multiple terrorists were neutralised in the follow-up ground assessment.

“The Air Force, in coordination with ground troops, will continue to dominate the battlespace and deny criminal elements freedom of action,” a defence source stated, asking not to be named because he was not authorised to speak to the press. Local residents near Faskari reported hearing loud explosions late Saturday, which they initially mistook for routine military activity.
