Afenifere Raises Alarm Over Escalating Insecurity

Nigeria's foremost pan-Yoruba socio-political organisation, Afenifere, has expressed deep concern over the worsening security situation across the country, warning that the surge in kidnappings, banditry and violent attacks poses a serious threat to the nation's democratic stability.

In a statement, the organisation called on the Federal Government to take urgent and decisive action to address the escalating crisis. Afenifere warned that if left unchecked, the insecurity could undermine the country's democratic institutions and erode public confidence in governance.

The group's alarm comes amid a wave of attacks across multiple states, including Plateau, Kaduna, Benue, and Oyo, where communities have suffered repeated assaults and abductions.
