LAGOS, NIGERIA — The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) is likely to hold interest rates at 26.5 per cent through 2026, according to economist Bismarck Rewane.
Rewane also projected that Nigeria's real Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth would reach four per cent by the end of 2026, while the naira would remain relatively stable, trading between N1,390 and N1,420 to the dollar. He noted that the CBN's tight monetary policy stance has been effective in curbing inflation and stabilising the currency.
