ABUJA, NIGERIA — The El‑Rufai Support Group Association (ERSGA) has announced the formal engagement of Vanguard Africa, a Washington DC‑based international advocacy firm, to lead a coordinated campaign over what it called the erosion of the rule of law and the abuse of due process in Nigeria.

The development comes amid growing speculation about the political future of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El‑Rufai and his reported rift with the Tinubu administration. El‑Rufai, a founding member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has been conspicuously absent from recent party activities, fueling rumours of a possible defection.

The engagement of a US lobbying firm suggests that El‑Rufai's camp is seeking international attention and support as the 2027 elections approach.
