ABUJA, NIGERIA — The Nigeria Police Force has
announced the arrest of 173 suspects linked to terrorism, banditry, kidnapping,
armed robbery, cultism and murder across the country within one week.
According to the police operational situation report
covering June 8 to June 14, 2026, operatives also rescued 32 kidnap victims and
recovered 33 firearms during the period.
The arrests were made in coordinated operations across
multiple states, with the highest numbers recorded in the North‑West and North‑Central
regions, which continue to bear the brunt of banditry and kidnapping‑for‑ransom.
