The Kebbi State Police Command has confirmed a terrorist attack on Tsamiya Town in Bagudo Local Government Area, during which property was destroyed and a resident was abducted.
The attack occurred in the late hours of Saturday, June 20, 2026. The assailants attacked the community in Tsamiya, a border town in Bagudo LGA of Kebbi State.
Suspected terrorists abducted a resident identified as Alhaji Yusuf Bazamfare during the attack. They also set ablaze a Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps outpost, a brothel, and one residential building.
The Kebbi State Police Command has deployed tactical personnel to Tsamiya Town following the attack.
Police spokesperson SP Bashir Usman confirmed the incident and assured residents that security operations will continue until normalcy is fully restored.

The attack on Tsamiya Town is the latest in a series of incidents that have raised concerns about the spread of terrorism into Kebbi State, which shares borders with Niger State and the Benin Republic. The targeting of an NSCDC outpost is particularly significant, as it indicates that terrorists are increasingly bold in their attacks on security infrastructure. The government must take urgent action to secure border communities and prevent the further spread of terrorism.
