MAKURDI, BENUE STATE — A 15-year-old herder has been killed, while another worker remains missing after suspected bandits attacked a herd in Olahimo Village, Ogoli-Ugboju, in Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State.
The attackers reportedly rustled several cattle during the raid before fleeing the area, adding to growing concerns over the deteriorating security situation in rural communities across Benue.
Although details surrounding the attack remain limited, local sources said the assailants struck unexpectedly, forcing herders and residents to flee for safety. The body of the teenage victim was later recovered, while search efforts for the missing worker are ongoing.
