AKWANGA, NASARAWA STATE – July 1, 2026
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Wednesday commissioned the dualised Akwanga Township Road and Underpass in Nasarawa State, reaffirming the Federal Government's support for infrastructure development across the country.
The President was represented at the ceremony by the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Coshwe Yilwatda. The projects were executed by the administration of Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi A. Sule.
The commissioning ceremony attracted several top government officials, including the Minister of Works, Senator Engr. Nweze David Umahi, Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang, and Gombe State Governor Inuwa Yahaya.
The event underscored collaboration between the Federal Government and state governments in delivering infrastructure projects aimed at improving transportation, easing traffic congestion, and supporting economic development.
The newly commissioned dualised township road and underpass are expected to enhance traffic flow within Akwanga and improve connectivity for residents, businesses, and commuters travelling through the area.
The projects form part of Governor Sule's infrastructure development agenda, which seeks to modernise road networks and stimulate economic growth across Nasarawa State.
The commissioning marks another milestone in ongoing efforts to strengthen public infrastructure and improve the quality of transportation services in the state.
