Benue APC Chairman, Dr. Benjamin Omale, has condemned the recent attacks in Benue South Senatorial District, donated relief materials to affected communities and called for stronger security measures.
MAKURDI, BENUE STATE — The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State, Dr. Benjamin Omale, has condemned the recent attacks on communities in Benue South Senatorial District, describing the killing of innocent residents and destruction of property as unacceptable.
Speaking during a visit to communities affected by the violence, Omale expressed sympathy to families who lost loved ones and assured victims that both the Benue State Government and the ruling party would continue to support them.
I express my deepest condolences to the families who have lost their loved ones and to the affected communities. I pray for the peaceful repose of the deceased and for God to grant comfort and strength to those they left behind, he said.
The APC chairman urged residents not to resort to reprisals, stressing that peace and unity remained the only path to lasting stability in the state.
No one should take the law into his or her hands. Peace and unity remain stronger than division and violence. We must all work together to restore lasting peace to our communities, Omale stated.
He also called on security agencies to intensify efforts to arrest those responsible for the attacks and ensure that they are brought to justice.
Omale commended security personnel for their sacrifices in protecting lives and property but urged them to improve their response to security threats across the state.
As part of his visit, the APC chairman, with the support of the Benue State Government, distributed relief materials and food items to victims displaced by the attacks.
He assured affected communities that they had not been abandoned and pledged continued support until normalcy returns.
According to Omale, addressing insecurity in Benue requires stronger collaboration among the federal and state governments, traditional rulers, religious leaders, community stakeholders and youths.
He also encouraged residents to support security agencies with credible information that could help prevent future attacks.
Omale commended President Bola Tinubu and Governor Hyacinth Alia for what he described as their commitment to improving security in Benue State and across the country.
No life is worth losing. Together, through unity, cooperation and collective resolve, we can build a more peaceful Benue and a better Nigeria, he said.
