The Nigeria Police Force has reported a wave of operational breakthroughs across seven states, Imo, Taraba, Plateau, Bauchi, Gombe, Ogun and Niger, including the arrest of suspected terrorist collaborators, the dismantling of an illegal firearms manufacturing operation, and the repelling of an attack on a village, all recorded between August 21 and 23.
According to a State-by-State Executive Summary released by Force Public Relations Officer CSP Anietie Iniedu, the most significant action occurred in Imo State on August 21, where operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit arrested three suspected terrorist collaborators, including a man identified as the owner of a terrorist camp.
Two AK rifles were recovered, one of them allegedly linked to the murder of a Homeland Security Guard and the other reportedly snatched from Agwa Police Station during a 2022 attack on the facility. Police said the suspect is cooperating with investigators and has provided information on arms buyers.
In Plateau State, the summary confirmed that security personnel repelled an attack on Tanjol Village in Riyom LGA on August 23, forcing the attackers to flee into the forest.
A joint search-and-rescue operation launched afterward recovered two injured security personnel, who were taken to hospital for treatment; the State CID in Jos is investigating the incident.
The remaining operations across Bauchi, Gombe, Ogun and Niger states involved additional arrests and weapons recoveries not detailed in full in the summary.
