Governor Hyacinth Alia signs a Memorandum of Understanding with Hudson Global Consulting to attract $5 billion in investment, implementing seven strategies from the Benue 2035 Economic Transformation Summit.

Governor Hyacinth Alia has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Hudson Global Consulting to implement seven strategic investment strategies developed at the Benue 2035 Economic Transformation, Capital Formation and Prosperity Summit, aiming to attract $5 billion in investment to the state.
At the closing ceremony, Alia thanked the lead facilitator, participants, and Benue Investment and Property Company (BIPC) Group Managing Director Dr. Raymond Asemakaha for developing a strategy covering the entire state, stressing that his administration has the political will to ensure the strategy's success.
Team Lead of Hudson Global Consulting, Prince Tom Isehohi, said the summit was deliberately structured to achieve broad stakeholder alignment, bringing together government supporters, critics, and independent voices. The Group Managing Director called for focused strategic choices with clear ownership, governance, financing, and performance measures, rather than a sprawling wish-list of projects.
The MoU signing marks the start of the implementation phase, with an execution pathway that includes a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) vehicle, detailed transformation plans, capital mobilisation, and continuous monitoring and adjustment.
Alia has since cited the MoU directly in his political messaging, telling former Governor Ortom to "stop distracting" him from rebuilding Benue, and framing his infrastructure and investment record, alongside this deal, as the foundation of his 2027 re-election case, distinct from the Benue Food City project this outlet also covered.
