Lagos, Lagos State – By Prime Brief Media
Over 200 young basketballers from across Nigeria will converge at the Dolphins Basketball Court in Ikeja, Lagos, on Saturday, 23 May, for the final selection phase of the Templar-Adrenale Athlete Development Initiative, one of the country's largest grassroots basketball talent identification programmes.
The initiative, jointly sponsored by Templar Capital and the Adrenale Foundation, has scouted talent from schools and community courts in several states. Saturday's final selection will feature intensive drills, scrimmages, and assessment by a panel of coaches, including representatives from the Nigeria Basketball Federation and American college scouts.
"The goal is to find the next generation of D'Tigers and D'Tigress stars. Nigeria has an incredible pool of basketball talent. What we need is structured pathways from the grassroots to the elite level. This initiative is a step in that direction," said Templar Capital CEO, Oluwasegun Olaniyan.
Selected players will receive scholarships, elite training, and exposure to college and professional opportunities. The event is open to the public, and organisers have encouraged basketball fans and families to attend.
Prime Brief Media will provide further updates on team performances and competition standings throughout the season.
