Senate orders crackdown on bandits flaunting crime cash on TikTok

The Women Wing of the City Boy Movement has distributed business grants and provided skills training to 1,000 women in Kuje Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, in what the group described as a demonstration of President Bola Tinubu's commitment to women's economic empowerment.

At the event held on Wednesday, the National Coordinator of the City Boy Women Wing, Hajia Aisha Bello, said the empowerment programme was designed to lift vulnerable women out of poverty by providing them with the capital and skills to start or expand small businesses. Beneficiaries received cash grants ranging from N50,000 to N100,000, as well as training in soap making, catering, and digital marketing.

"We are not just giving out money; we are building a movement of economically independent women who understand that President Tinubu is the leader who truly cares about their welfare. This is why we are mobilising massively for his re-election in 2027," Bello said.

The City Boy Movement, which emerged as a youth mobilisation vehicle during the 2023 elections, has grown into a national network with chapters across all states. The group's leadership says it has empowered over 10,000 women nationwide and plans to expand the programme to all 36 states before the 2027 elections.
