President Bola Tinubu has heaped praise on FCT Minister Nyesom Wike during the inauguration of Collector Road CN2 (Emmanuel Okanla Boulevard) and other road networks in Katampe District, Abuja.
Tinubu, represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, said: "Wike, you have not disappointed Mr President. From transforming abandoned roads into new boulevards to delivering water projects and judicial quarters, you work day and night." Tinubu added that solar-powered street lights installed along major corridors had improved security and revived Abuja's nightlife.
The public endorsement has sparked speculation about Wike's political future and the possibility of a higher office in 2027. Supporters see it as a signal that the President is pleased with the FCT Minister's performance, while critics question whether the praise is politically motivated.
Wike, a former Governor of Rivers State, has been a polarizing figure in Nigerian politics. His defection from the PDP to the APC has made him a key ally of President Tinubu.
