The military has announced that troops operating across multiple theatres nationwide in the past one week neutralised 15 terrorists, arrested 28 suspects, and rescued 25 kidnapped victims in coordinated counter-terrorism and anti-crime operations.
The Director of Defence Media Operations, Maj.-Gen. Michael Onoja, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday. The operations, conducted in the North-East, North-West, and North-Central zones, also led to the recovery of weapons and ammunition.
The military said the operations were intelligence-driven and targeted at dismantling terrorist networks and rescuing civilians held captive by criminal groups.
While the military continues to record successes on the battlefield, critics argue that the scale of the crisis requires more than tactical victories—it demands a comprehensive strategy that addresses the root causes of insecurity.
