A Federal High Court in Abuja has sentenced two women linked to slain terrorist kingpin Kachallah Ibrahim Battujo to 20 years imprisonment each for terrorism-related offences.
The convicts, Safiya Salihu and Halima Abdullahi, are the mother and sister of Battujo, who was killed by Nigerian security forces on June 10, 2026, during an operation in Kogi State. The women were found guilty of providing support and resources to the terrorist network.
Their sentencing is seen as a significant blow to the logistical networks that sustain terrorist operations in the region. Security analysts have described the conviction as a warning to families and associates of terrorists.
The court heard evidence that the women had facilitated the movement of funds and supplies to Battujo's gang, enabling them to carry out attacks and kidnappings.
