A farmer-herder dispute in Pangri, Bali LGA of Taraba State left one person dead and more than 10 others injured. Police say the situation is now under control.

One person has been killed and more than 10 others injured following a violent farmer-herder clash in Pangri, Bali Local Government Area of Taraba State.
According to reports, the crisis began after a herder allegedly grazed cattle on a farmer's land, triggering a dispute that later escalated into violence.
The incident was reported to a nearby police checkpoint, where a confrontation reportedly occurred between the herder and police officers.
Sources said the situation worsened after a police officer was allegedly attacked with a cutlass during the altercation. In response, another armed officer reportedly fired a distress shot, killing one herder.
The death of the herder reportedly sparked a reprisal attack by suspected Fulani youths on Tiv residents in Pangri village, leaving more than 10 people with varying degrees of injuries.
The injured victims were evacuated to Bali General Hospital, where they are receiving medical treatment.
Police authorities said the situation has been brought under control, with security personnel deployed to prevent further violence and maintain law and order in the community.
Authorities have not announced any arrests in connection with the incident, while investigations into the circumstances surrounding the clash are ongoing.
