The Sardauna Local Government Council has imposed a night curfew in Gembu, the headquarters of Sardauna Local Government Area of Taraba State, following a violent incident that reportedly claimed the life of a police officer and left several others injured.

Under the directive, movement within the Gembu metropolis has been restricted from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. daily until further notice.

The curfew was announced amid heightened tension in the town after an alleged clash that reportedly resulted in the death of a police officer.

Several other people were also said to have sustained injuries during the incident and are currently receiving treatment at undisclosed medical facilities.
