Plateau State Police confirm the arrest of a new suspect, Yusuf Christopher Beskeni, in connection with the mob killing of Ibrahim Mbaya, as the manhunt for other suspects continues.

The Plateau State Police Command has announced another breakthrough in its investigation into the death of Ibrahim Mbaya, confirming the arrest of an additional suspect linked to the killing.
According to a statement issued by the command's Police Public Relations Officer, SP Alfred Alabo, detectives acted on credible intelligence to arrest 24-year-old Yusuf Christopher Beskeni in connection with the case.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspect played an active role in the assault that led to Mbaya's death.
Police allege he participated in restraining the victim to a pole while he was subjected to severe mob violence, an ordeal that ultimately proved fatal.
Beskeni is currently being held in police custody as investigators work to track down other suspects believed to still be at large in connection with the case.
Acting Commissioner of Police for Plateau State, DCP Usman Sheikh Adamu, reassured Mbaya's family and residents of the state that the command remains committed to ensuring everyone involved in the assault is brought to justice, regardless of how long the investigation takes.
The command indicated that operations to apprehend the remaining fleeing suspects are ongoing, with further updates expected as the investigation progresses.
