Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has expressed confidence that the African Democratic Congress possesses the political machinery and ideological clarity required to defeat the ruling All Progressives Congress in the forthcoming 2027 general election.

In a post shared on his verified X account following a strategic meeting with Adamawa State stakeholders of the ADC at his Abuja residence, the former Vice President described the party as the "only opposition force" capable of mounting a credible challenge to the current administration. He emphasised that the ADC is "strong in both ideals and structure," positioning it as a viable alternative for Nigerians seeking change.

"Yesterday, I received the Adamawa State stakeholders of the ADC at my residence in Abuja. We had a constructive engagement on the state of the nation and the urgent need to rescue Nigeria from the grip of a failing government," Atiku wrote. "The ADC remains the only opposition force with the structure and the ideological clarity to unseat the APC in 2027."
