Senate orders crackdown on bandits flaunting crime cash on TikTok

A dramatic revelation emerged at the ongoing trial of alleged coup plotters when an Islamic cleric testified that several defendants had approached him seeking spiritual fortification ahead of their planned operation to topple the government.

The cleric, whose name is being withheld for security reasons, told the Federal High Court on Monday that the suspects visited him on multiple occasions. They requested prayers and charms that would make them invincible during the operation.

“I told them their plan was evil and would fail. I warned them to abandon it, but they did not listen,” the witness said.
