President Bola Tinubu has appointed retired Major General Adeyinka Fadewa as his Special Adviser on Homeland Security, a newly created office designed to strengthen the coordination of Nigeria's internal security architecture.

The appointment was confirmed in a statement by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation on Monday. Fadewa, a respected military strategist, previously served as Principal General Staff Officer to the National Security Adviser and was instrumental in the establishment of the Intelligence Fusion Centre, a critical hub for inter-agency threat analysis.
