NED NWOKO REJECTS DELTA APC SENATORIAL PRIMARY RESULT

Asaba, Delta State – By Prime Brief Media

Senator Ned Nwoko has formally rejected the outcome of the All Progressives Congress senatorial primary for Delta North, which declared former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa the winner, and has vowed to pursue legal and internal remedies to overturn the result.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Senator Nwoko alleged that the primary was manipulated and that the figures announced did not reflect the actual voting. He claimed to be in possession of ward-by-ward video evidence demonstrating that he secured the majority of valid votes cast.

"The result declared from one ward, a ward closely associated with the former governor, was used to override the democratic will of the delegates across the senatorial district. We have incontrovertible evidence, and we will present it before the appeal panel and the courts if necessary," Nwoko said.

Okowa, who served as Governor of Delta State from 2015 to 2023 and was the vice presidential candidate of the PDP in the 2023 elections, defected to the APC earlier this year and immediately launched his senatorial bid. His victory in the primary has been celebrated by his supporters as a political comeback.

The APC in Delta State has not yet responded to Nwoko's allegations. The party's national secretariat is expected to receive and adjudicate petitions arising from the primaries in the coming days.

Prime Brief Media is closely following political reactions and will provide updates as the situation evolves.
