PANTAMI WITHDRAWS FROM GOMBE APC GOVERNORSHIP RACE

Gombe, Gombe State – By Prime Brief Media

Former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Prof. Isa Pantami, has announced his withdrawal from the All Progressives Congress governorship primaries in Gombe State, effectively ending his bid to succeed Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya.

In a letter addressed to the APC National Chairman and released to journalists on Tuesday, Pantami cited what he described as fundamental violations of the Electoral Act 2026 and a lack of transparency in the conduct of the primary process as reasons for his decision.

"I entered this race with the sincere intention to serve my state and contribute to the development of our people. However, the process as currently constituted does not inspire confidence. I cannot, in good conscience, participate in a process that does not adhere to the principles of fairness and transparency," Pantami wrote.

The former minister, who served in the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari, was seen as a formidable aspirant with significant support among the state's youth and technology community. His withdrawal leaves the field clearer for other aspirants, including the presumed anointed candidate of the incumbent governor.

Prime Brief Media is closely following political reactions and will provide updates as the situation evolves.
