Nigerian troops kill 26 terrorists, arrest 42 in Borno, Zamfara operations

Abuja, FCT – By Prime Brief Media

The Defence Headquarters has reported that troops of Operation Hadin Kai in the North-East and Operation Hadarin Daji in the North-West neutralised 26 terrorists and arrested 42 suspects in a series of coordinated operations conducted over the past week.

Director of Defence Media Operations Maj.-Gen. Michael Onoja disclosed the figures at a press briefing in Abuja on Friday. He said the operations, which involved ground forces, air support, and intelligence assets, also resulted in the rescue of several kidnapped victims and the recovery of a significant cache of arms, ammunition, and stolen livestock.

"The momentum of our operations is unrelenting. Terrorists are being denied freedom of movement and the capacity to plan and execute attacks. We will sustain this pressure," Onoja said.

In Borno State, troops of Operation Hadin Kai conducted clearance operations in the fringes of the Lake Chad Basin, destroying terrorist camps and logistics hubs. In Zamfara, Operation Hadarin Daji troops raided bandit enclaves in Zurmi and Shinkafi local government areas, arresting collaborators and recovering weapons.

The military has urged citizens to continue to support security agencies with credible intelligence and to report suspicious activities.

Prime Brief Media will continue to track security and rescue efforts across the state as this story develops.
