Senate orders crackdown on bandits flaunting crime cash on TikTok

Senator representing Edo North, Adams Oshiomhole, has declared that the ongoing public clashes and fragmentation within Nigeria's opposition parties are providing the ruling All Progressives Congress with an effortless campaign advantage ahead of the 2027 elections.

Speaking to journalists in Abuja on Friday, the former APC National Chairman said opposition heavyweights were doing the ruling party's work by attacking one another rather than presenting a unified alternative.

"Atiku Abubakar is our best campaign manager. Every time he opens his mouth to attack Peter Obi or Seyi Makinde or any opposition figure, he is campaigning for the APC. Peter Obi, Rotimi Amaechi they are all our campaign tools. Their division is our strength," Oshiomhole said.

He argued that the opposition's inability to coalesce around a single platform or candidate is a repeat of the dynamic that handed the APC victory in 2023. Oshiomhole expressed confidence that President Tinubu's re-election was virtually assured if the opposition remained fragmented.

Opposition figures have yet to formally respond to Oshiomhole's remarks, but coalition leaders have acknowledged that unity remains their greatest challenge.
