SLAIN OYO TEACHER BURIED AMID CALLS FOR JUSTICE

Ibadan, Oyo State – By Prime Brief Media

Michael Oyedokun, the assistant headmaster brutally killed by kidnappers who abducted over 40 students and staff from three schools in Oriire Local Government Area, was laid to rest on Friday in an atmosphere of grief, anger, and solemn dignity.

The burial, held at his hometown in Oyo State, drew family members, colleagues from the teaching profession, community leaders, and government representatives. Oyedokun was beheaded by his captors last week in a video that sent shockwaves across Nigeria.

His widow, children, and aged mother wept openly as his remains were interred. Colleagues described him as a dedicated educator who loved his pupils and believed in the transformative power of education.

"We are burying a hero today. He died protecting his students. We demand justice. We demand that the government bring his killers to book and rescue those still in captivity," said the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Teachers in Oyo State.

Governor Seyi Makinde, who was represented at the funeral, reiterated his government's commitment to securing the release of the abductees. The Police and military have said operations are ongoing.

Prime Brief Media will continue to track security and rescue efforts across the state as this story develops.
