ABUJA, NIGERIA — The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has confirmed that coordinated military operations across the country have resulted in the rescue of 398 kidnapped persons, the arrest of 31 suspected terrorists and collaborators, and the neutralisation of 10 criminals within the last one week.

The operations, conducted between June 4 and June 17, 2026, targeted terrorist hideouts and criminal enclaves across multiple states. In Benue, Kogi and Taraba states, troops recovered AK-47 rifles, locally made pistols, ammunition, and rescued 13 passengers from a highway attack.

The DHQ statement also highlighted successes in the North‑East and North‑West, where troops have intensified offensive operations against Boko Haram, ISWAP, and bandit groups. Security forces have also been working to dismantle logistics networks that sustain criminal operations.

The military has assured citizens that operations will continue until all criminal elements are flushed out and peace is restored across the country.
