SOKOTO, NIGERIA — Troops of Operation Fansan Yamma have rescued seven farmers abducted by suspected bandits during an attack on farming communities in Gandi, Rabah Local Government Area, Sokoto State.
According to military sources, the farmers were abducted while working on their farmlands and were held captive for several days before troops tracked down the bandits and secured their release. The rescued farmers have been reunited with their families after receiving medical checks.
The operation is part of ongoing efforts by security forces to protect farming communities and ensure food production is not disrupted by banditry. The military has intensified patrols in the area to prevent further attacks.
