June 20, 2026 – Jos, Plateau State
Plateau State has been pushed into a troubling cycle of coordinated violence, with gunmen carrying out a series of deadly attacks across multiple locations within days, leaving miners, a traditional ruler, and security operatives dead.
From Jos South mining communities to the Bokkos axis, the Kuru corridor near NIPSS, and extending to a border community in Kaduna State, residents and observers describe the pattern as "deeply alarming and increasingly coordinated."
A resident of Jos South, Mrs. Lydia Dung, said: "We are living in fear every day. Even sleep is not peaceful anymore." Community leaders are demanding urgent government action to halt the bloodshed.
