A security guard was reportedly killed and three persons, including a pastor, abducted after suspected bandits attacked Mpape Community in the Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The attack occurred late on Wednesday, according to local reports, throwing residents into panic as armed men invaded the area.
Sources said the attackers killed a security guard before abducting three residents, one of whom is a pastor.
The identities of the victims had not been officially released as of the time of filing this report.
Mpape is located just a few minutes from the upscale Maitama District and is also situated close to a military barracks within Nigeria's capital city.
The latest attack has renewed concerns over the growing insecurity affecting communities on the outskirts of Abuja despite the heavy presence of security formations.
