Former Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has clinched the All Progressives Congress ticket for the Delta North Senatorial District, defeating incumbent Senator Ned Nwoko in a keenly contested primary held on Saturday.
Results announced by the returning officer showed Okowa securing a decisive majority of delegate votes. The victory marks a significant political comeback for the former governor, who served as running mate to Atiku Abubakar in the 2023 presidential election and defected from the Peoples Democratic Party to the APC earlier this year.
