Senate orders crackdown on bandits flaunting crime cash on TikTok

Hon. Samuel Jiji, the member representing Logo State Constituency in the Benue State House of Assembly, has withdrawn from the All Progressives Congress primaries for the State Assembly, citing what he described as fundamental irregularities and a lack of transparency in the process.

In a letter addressed to the APC National Chairman and released to journalists on Thursday, Jiji said the electoral committee had failed to provide a credible framework for the primaries and that he could not, in good conscience, participate.

"I entered this process with the hope that the party would provide a level playing field. That has not happened. The irregularities are too many to ignore. I am withdrawing, but I remain a committed member of the APC," Jiji wrote.

Jiji's withdrawal follows that of former Speaker Hyacinth Dajoh, who pulled out of the Gboko West primary and subsequently defected to the Peoples Democratic Party. The APC in Benue is grappling with widespread discontent over the handling of the primaries.
