POLICE RESCUE TWO WOMEN FROM MOB IN AKWA IBOM

Uyo, Akwa Ibom State – By Prime Brief Media

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has rescued two women from the hands of a mob that had stripped, assaulted, and was preparing to execute them over allegations that could not be substantiated.

The Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Timfon John, confirmed the rescue in a statement on Tuesday. She said the incident was brought to the attention of the police by a state commissioner who witnessed the mob action and immediately alerted the command. Police operatives were dispatched to the scene and successfully rescued the victims.

"The two women were found stripped, beaten, and in a state of extreme trauma. They have been taken to a safe location and are receiving medical care and psychological support. We condemn in the strongest terms this act of mob injustice," ASP John said.

The Commissioner of Police has ordered a full investigation into the incident and directed that the perpetrators be identified, arrested, and prosecuted. The command warned that mob justice is a crime and that anyone taking the law into their own hands would face the full consequences.

Prime Brief Media will continue to track security and rescue efforts across the state as this story develops.
