SHETTIMA REVEALS PLOT TO SOW DISCORD BETWEEN HIM AND TINUBU

Abuja, FCT – By Prime Brief Media

Vice President Kashim Shettima has revealed a remarkable attempt by political actors to sow deadly discord between him and President Bola Tinubu, disclosing that some individuals from his home state of Borno falsely accused him of plotting to assassinate the President.

Shettima made the disclosure during an interactive session with journalists in Abuja on Tuesday. He said the plot unfolded barely three months after the administration took office, when some prominent figures from Borno visited the Presidential Villa and told President Tinubu that the Vice President intended to kill him and seize power.

"The claim was that the traditional attires I had given the President during the campaign were charmed, and that my intention was to eliminate him and become President," Shettima said.

The Vice President said President Tinubu's response was immediate and unambiguous. "The President looked at them and dismissed the allegation outright. To demonstrate his absolute trust in me, he wore those same garments for an entire week, appearing in them at several official functions. That is the character of the man I serve," Shettima stated.

The revelation provides a rare glimpse into the subterranean political dynamics that often play out around the presidency and underscores the deep trust Shettima says exists between him and Tinubu. Political analysts say the incident also reflects the intensity of the competition for influence and access within the corridors of power.
